U.S. stocks went down on Friday, but they still had a strong week overall. This happened as leaders in the House of Representatives worked hard to prepare a vote on a plan to help the economy, and the U.S. reported more cases of coronavirus than China.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by about 900 points, which is a 4% drop, after a big three-day increase where it rose more than 20% and entered a new bull market. The S&P 500 also decreased by 3.4%.
So far this year, both of these stock indexes are down more than 20%.
