Little Mix Expertly Shake Off Their Exes On The Shimmering ‘Break Up Song’

Dua Lipa isn’t the only artist bringing back those awesome ’80s pop vibes! Little Mix, one of the biggest girl group in Britain, kicked off a new chapter on Friday with their exciting new song called “Break Up Song.”

The song starts with Leigh-Anne Pinnock singing, “This is not a second chance, no, no, baby,” which sets a strong and confident mood.

In confirmatiom, the other girls echo along in the chorus, promising to move on from their heartbreak: “So tonight, I’ll sing another, another break-up song / So turn it up, let it play on, and on, and on, and on,” and, “For all of the times they messed us up / Let it play on and on and on.” This catchy song combines the fun of their hit “Black Magic” with the feeling of freedom from “Shout Out To My Ex,” and it’s a great sign of what’s coming next.

Earlier this month, Little Mix also released a music video for their popular song “Wasabi” from their 2018 album, LM5. That video ended with a blank screen and the words “new era pending,” hinting at something new.

With “Break Up Song,” Leigh-Anne, Jesy, Jade, and Perrie have officially started the countdown for their sixth album, which is their first since leaving Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco.

In the past year, the group has released a few singles, including the underrated “Bounce Back” and the festive song “One I’ve Been Missing.” We’re really excited to see what these girls do next!
